{fun friday}

What was supposed to be a relaxing and low-key Friday got off to an adventurous start! It all began this morning when I went for my morning run. As I was running, I realized I was being chased by two dogs – little guys, so there were no worries. Instead of running from them, I stopped and made friends. They were so dirty but SO sweet! I realized that one of them had a tag so I tricked him into letting me pick him up and carry him home. The other dog decided to tag along and kept jumping and nipping at the other dog trying to get him to come down and play. I don’t believe they were from the same home but they were the best of friends. They reminded me of two single guys roaming the town together. I carried Sammy all the way home and got them to come inside the garage. I gave them some water and food and tried to call the phone number. Unfortunately, it was no longer a working number, so I was waiting for Corey to finish working so we could go look for the address on the tag. I decided to put them in the backyard where it would be cooler and then came inside to get my camera to take some fun pictures of them. When I returned…they were gone. :(   We drove around to look but could not find them. Sammy was so sweet and just wanted to go home and the other dog was definitely looking for a good time. I am just hoping that someone else has taken them home because I’ve been worried about them all morning. Either way, I definitely made some new friends!

In other news, I have been working on a series of different collages for a client and wanted to share! I hope everyone is have an enjoyable Friday!

los angeles!

Two weeks ago I traveled to sunny LA to visit Corey at work. He is currently working on a project for Nestle in LA and Ohio. I had never been to the West Coast before so it was really a treat! Corey surprised me with a lot of my favorite things in the hotel! Then we took an adventure to Universal Studios! What a blast! Our favorite part was the studio tour. We got to ride through Universal Studios and check out all of the famous movie sets. Unfortunately a portion of the sets at Universal Studios burned this week – I’m glad we were able to check it out when we did! That night we drove down to Santa Monica to stay the night. We ventured out to the Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade. Our last day there we laid out at the beach and drove around to checked out Rodeo Drive, the Chinese Theatre, Hollywood homes, and the famous Beverly Wilshire hotel! (From the movie Pretty Woman) It was such a relaxing trip with my favorite! I can’t wait to go back!
Fun streets!

whew…it’s been awhile!

A lot has been going on so I apologize for the lack of posting!  Although summer is quickly approaching, it is one of the busiest times of the year as a First Grade teacher.  There is quite a bit going on outside of the classroom – lots of paperwork, conferences, and meetings.  I have been very occupied and will continue to be busy until June 6th!

A few updates!  As most of you know, my good friend, Stacy Reeves, traveled to The Woodlands recently for a few photo shoots and hung out with Corey and I while she was here.  I had the opportunity to tag along to a couple of her photo shoots – both of which were great friends of ours.  Her first session was with my college roommate and best friend since first grade, Allison.  Alli and Matt will be getting married this September and Stacy will be photographing their wedding.  Her second session was with a few good friends of Corey and I’s from college, Nick and Alex.  They were married a few months ago and contacted Stacy to do an Extreme Bridal session.  I tagged along as a helper (i.e light fairy) and had the opportunity to take a few shots.  It was such an honor to spend the evening with Stacy to watch her work.  Check out her blog for more photos from her session with Alex and Nick!

Thanks for letting me tag along Stacy!

Thanks for letting me tag along Stacy!

I also had the privilege to photograph a very special family – The Kemmerly’s.  The Kemmerly’s are good friends and neighbors of The Webster’s and our best friend’s Kat and Craig.  They all live right around the corner from one another in the beautiful neighborhood of Cottage Greens.  Now I am not exaggerating when I say that Cottage Greens is THE most beautiful and quaint neighborhood in The Woodlands – in my opinion at least.  It is definitely one of my happy places.  Some of my most favorite people in the world live in this neighborhood and I keep meeting more!  It is such an incredibly tight-knit group of people.  They take such wonderful care of each other, from making dinner for families with new additions to hosting family fun days in their neighborhood park.  It is almost sick how perfect this little neighborhood is.  Needless to say it is a dream of mine to someday move there!  Any who – back to The Kemmerly’s!  They contacted me to have photographs taken for Mother’s Day – a great gift idea!  They were so welcoming and down-to-earth.  They were such a treat to spend the afternoon with, especially their precious daughter!  I remember Corey continuously repeating “She is so beautiful!”.  She has the best personality and she spent the afternoon entertaining us with her laughter, incredible dancing (seriously!), and drumming.  She is going to grow up to be one talented little girl!

What a special family!

Be sure to check back for photographs from our trip to LA and my first engagement session (will post soon).  I also have the privilege to photograph the precious Scout again tomorrow – I can’t believe she is already 3 months!  I can’t wait to see how much she has grown!

5k

So two weekends ago Corey and I signed up to run a 5k with some of our best friends in the world while in Dallas!  We ran through the Fort Worth Zoo and I believe we were helping to save frogs…random but awesome.  It was such a wonderful day – I loved seeing all of the animals in the zoo and the neighborhoods we ran through were breathtaking.  Needless to say, Corey ran much faster than I, but I definitely enjoyed the scenery!  Here are a few pics from our beloved Kat and Craig!  Thanks guys!

Also, Corey and many of our other loved ones will be participating this weekend in a triathlon in The Woodlands. Come out on Saturday to cheer them on!

exciting weekend!

I have a very exciting weekend to come! Corey and I are traveling to Dallas to run a 5K and do two photo sessions! I am lucky enough to have one of my bestest friends and wedding photographer, Stacy Reeves, tag along for some photography fun and guidance! Check back for pics from the 5k and my latest sessions with Stacy!

panama city!!

Corey and I went on another adventure!  We LOVE to travel and his job fortunately gives us the opportunity to do so quite often.  Corey has been on a project in Atlanta, GA since September of last year.  We had the idea to fly me out to Atlanta and then drive to visit my sister and her family in Panama City.  We haven’t seen any of them since our wedding in July of ’06.  We had such a blast!  We sat on the porch and relaxed, made blankets (or more like watched Traci make blankets), played games, and went to the white sandy beaches where we took some FUN photographs!

My brother in law, Rich, is the person that originally sparked my interest in photography. When I was 13 I went to visit them to babysit my nephews for the summer. I remember he had quite the collection of equipment. I probed with lots of questions and have been curious ever since! It was so fun to have some fun with the camera with him now that I’m all grown up! We so enjoyed spending some quality time with them! Miss you guys!

I was so scared!
